niagarafallsNiagara Falls is one of the most spectacular gifts of God to mankind. Its magnificence and sheer beauty take one’s breath away as the mighty waters roar down the rocks.
The Niagara Falls is comprised of the American Falls and the Horseshoe Falls. The Horseshoe Falls are about 173 feet high and 2600 feet wide. The American Falls are 70 feet high and 1060 feet wide. The intensity of the water flow is up to 202 thousand cubic feet per second in the peak season.
As the Niagara falls face Canada, the best view of the Falls is available from the Canadian shore.

The Niagara Falls together with the Niagara River and the North American great lakes were formed by the Wisconsin glaciations as long as 10,000 years. The latter were created under the impact of the continental ice sheet moving across the area and digging lakes out of rivers and channels like a bulldozer. (more…)
